Bassface
SMG // Teej // Yannons // oatp
After collaborating with Sofa Sound in September, Bassface is taking the reins once again. This time, the lineup features two headliners we've been closely following over the past few years, artists who have evolved from rising talents into established names within the drum & bass scene.
SMG has been unstoppable lately. Blink twice and another new SMG track has found its way into the sets of your favourite DJs. Heavy, deep subs and intense mid-basses define a unique sound that has caught the attention of labels such as Critical Music, Overview, and MODUS. High energy is guaranteed. This is a set you do not want to miss.
It’s an art form we are huge fans of at Bassface: creating compelling drum & bass with only a minimal number of elements. Teej is a master of minimal drum & bass, and it's about time we let the Simplon subwoofers shake to his music. His label, NYX, has become a respected name in the scene and remains one of the few labels truly dedicated to minimal drum & bass. We're already fans. Now it's your turn.
It's time once again to give Bassface crew member Yannons a spot on the line-up. After releasing an EP on Love For Low Frequencies earlier this year, followed by single releases on SubCulture and Transparent Audio, new music is here now. Rolling subs, heavy mid-basses, and crisp minimal drums come together in a fresh collection of Yannons productions that we'll finally get to hear in Simplon.
Relate Radio resident aotp brings music you've never heard before. Expect different styles and unique combinations of tracks unearthed from the depths of alternative electronic music. It's rare that we come across DJs who are genuinely doing something different while still fitting perfectly within the Bassface sound. This time, we have. After already earning the opportunity to showcase her selections at Lowlands, it's now time for Bassface and we are excited for it to say the least.
