
Desire x Johnny Jewel

Johnny Jewel is an American composer and visual artist. He is a multi-instrumentalist known for his use of all-analog equipment. Since the mid-1990s, Jewel has been active both as a film composer and as a full-fledged musician. Jewel owns and runs his own record label, Italians Do It Better. He is a member of several bands on the label, including Desire, with whom he will go on tour in the fall of 2026.
This Canadian-American electronic band, currently based in Palm Springs, creates synth-pop that blends film, fashion, and fantasy on the dance floor. On stage, singer Megan Louise shines with her French and English vocals, complemented by the Italo, disco noir, and synthwave sounds of composer Johnny Jewel.
Desire gained worldwide fame with their hit “Under Your Spell,” which featured prominently in the 2011 neo-noir film Drive and was played during runway shows by fashion houses such as Dior and Chanel.
The new album “Escape,” set for release in mid-October, is inspired by the vivid world of 1970s giallo films. They wrote it using their favorite musical instruments: Minikorg, Jupiter 8, 909, Mellotron, Simmons Rhythm Modules, String Machine, a D-50, and Fender Rhodes. How will they perform this live?
