History of House w/ Roog & Erick E
Housequake, the collaboration between Roog (Rogier van Bueren) and Erick E (Erick Eerdhuijzen), which began as a spontaneous back-to-back set between the two biggest club DJs in the Netherlands. Their music has grown into a dance phenomenon that generations of clubbers have grown up with.
Both Erick and Roog have been integral figures on the Dutch dance scene as solo artists since the 1990s. After a stint as a turntablist – during which he even made it to the DMC World Championships – Erick made his breakthrough as a resident DJ at the renowned RoXY club. Roog made his international breakthrough with his hardsoul project on the leading British house label Defected and, in the process, put soulful and funky house on the map with his ‘Sound of Love and Dedication’ compilations. In short: you won’t want to miss these DJs when they come to Simplon with Housequake!
