Sven Cilliers
Intimate singer-songwriter pop
Sven Cilliers (24) is a South African/Dutch singer-songwriter. He grew up along South Africa’s Garden Route, where surfing, adventure and music played a major part in his life. At the age of fifteen, he moved to the Netherlands, where he began to find his own way with a guitar and a head full of dreams.
Sven knew from an early age that he wanted to make music. When he was ten, he went out with his father to buy a Nintendo DS for his birthday. On the way, he changed his mind: he’d rather have a guitar. He still plays that very same guitar to this day.
In 2026, Sven signed with Universal Music and released the singles ‘Watermarks’ and ‘Somebody New’. With ‘Somebody New’, he reached high positions in the Airplay Charts and Qmusic’s Top 40 Airplay. In January, Sven will play his first sold-out show at Paradiso, followed by his own club tour in April, which will definitely include a stop at Simplon!
