Min Taka
Bubbly bilingual pixiepop
Turkish artist Min Taka is sweeping through the Netherlands and far beyond like a hurricane of vibrant pixie pop. Inspired by artists such as Sassy 009, Kero Kero Bonito, and Charlie XCX, she shares her inner world through a genre-defying sound that moves between indie, synth, and hyperpop.
The Min Taka project was conceived during the COVID-19 pandemic and is named after a lost planet. According to legend, the inhabitants of this planet were destined to be reincarnated on Earth, but they continued to yearn for and search for a place that felt like home. It’s a feeling Min Taka knows all too well.
Traveling back and forth between the Netherlands and Turkey, her true home lies in music.
After her roommate made a drunken remark to a booking agent in Rotterdam, things started to take off for Min Taka. Since 2020, she has released several singles and EPs and performed at well-known venues and festivals such as Motel Mozaique, Le Guess Who?, Popronde, Istanbul Jazz Festival, and ESNS 2025, where she achieved a notable fourth place in 3voor12’s best-of list. With songs in both Turkish and English, she knows how to enchant Dutch audiences. With songs in both Turkish and English, she knows how to enchant Dutch audiences. Her first English-language EP, “I Think We Should Just Move In Together,” racked up a million streams in just one week and appeared on more than 80 charts around the world.
On September 18, the pixie pop hurricane is set to sweep through Simplon. So dig your rain poncho out of the closet, and also your sunscreen, because this hurricane is unpredictable.
