Sex Mask
Heavy yet dreamy postpunk
Heavy-hitting post-punk with a dreamy edge: that’s how the Australian band Sex Mask describes their own sound. Their gritty and provocative mix of post-punk and alternative rock is both sharp and elusive. With playful ease, they switch between almost rap-like lyrics and clear, layered, and dynamic vocal lines, combined with dirty basslines, clubby drums, and absurdist lyrics.
With tracks like “TV Movie,” “How To Be Cool At Parties,” and “Birds,” they’ve firmly established themselves in the underground scene, where they’ve shared the stage with acts like Fcukers, Big Special, and Fat White Family. Following high-profile performances at Bigsound Brisbane and SXSW Sydney in 2024 and a successful European debut tour in 2025, the rebellious band is now coming to Groningen.
