Bassface

x Sofa Sound: Molecular // Zero T // Serpnt // Bikkelneck

Bassface x Sofa Sound
When one of Bristol’s kings launches a label, you know what to expect. DLR launched his own label, ‘Sofa Sound’, in 2017 and, over the years, has assembled a line-up of big names and up-and-coming talents who have embraced and perfected the iconic Bristol sound. The combination of the characteristic rolling, crunchy breakbeats and heavy basslines has ensured that Sofa Sound has been a huge success right from the start and is guaranteed to get any dance floor moving. Bassface is bringing the label to Groningen, and the line-up leaves absolutely nothing to be desired.

Molecular
This artist really needs no introduction. Two years ago, he took to the main stage at Simplon during Bassface to show what he’s capable of, and that set is still regarded within the Bassface Crew as one of the best ever. As far as we’re concerned, Molecular has done nothing but further prove since then that he’s one of the best in our scene. Release after release, he amazes the crowd with his top-class rolling drums and bass sounds that are simply outstanding. You simply have to be there.

Zero T
There’s absolutely nothing Zero T can’t do. The funkiest and most soulful tracks, dreamy liquid summer anthems, heavy old-school techy tracks, modern jungle breaks – and we haven’t even mentioned all the other music genres he dabbles in. And he’s been doing all this at the very highest level for over 25 years. If the name Zero T doesn’t ring a bell, you’d better start looking him up quickly before you make a fool of yourself.

Serpnt
Serpnt is one of those artists who has been releasing absolutely top-class drum & bass for years, but doesn’t get nearly enough credit for it. As part of Zerozero and under his solo alias Serpnt, he has been releasing music for years on our favourite labels, including Sofa Sound. He combines the Bristol roller sound with deep drum & bass and jungle to create a modern roller sound that fits perfectly with the Bassface aesthetic.

Bikkelneck
For Bassface veterans, this might feel like coming home. It certainly does for us. They’ve been part of the crew since Bassface’s early days, but in recent years they’ve spent very little time behind the decks. That’s all about to change! Bikkelneck are back with their trap, hip-hop & bass sound and have significantly expanded their music collection in the meantime. There may well be a few tears among the Bassface Crew as they’re overcome with nostalgia for Bassface editions 1 and 2.
