Housemaid are a four-piece indie rock band who seamlessly blend raw energy with hypnotic grooves and sharp observations. Their sound, steeped in shoegaze, krautrock and post-punk, is at once dreamy and confrontational; an experimental mix that lingers in the mind. The lyrics are incisive, vulnerable and unafraid to tackle feminist themes, ranging from questioning gender roles to exposing societal hypocrisy. With influences ranging from Courtney Barnett, Wet Leg and Talking Heads, Housemaid create music that not only gets under your skin, but also challenges your worldview.

Marion builds on folk traditions and combines them with electronic textures and modern production. Through constant experimentation, she has developed a style she herself calls ‘post-folk’. The songs feel familiar, but their structure and production deviate significantly from the norm. In doing so, Marion is taking the next step as part of a new generation of folk artists, enabling her to appeal to a wider audience.

On stage, the trio – comprising Dolf Honée, Fien Put and Mees Rijken – is more than just a band. Together, they create a warm, intimate atmosphere that feels like a living room, where, as a listener, you get a glimpse into how a group of friends play and experiment together. Because every sound is played live, with no backing tracks used, you, as a listener, see the songs come to life right before your eyes, and Marion brings the studio to the stage.
