Small, grand, vulnerable, compelling. Geestdrift brings everything together in their music, which can be described as a fusion of punk rock and cabaret. Elena presents her poetic lyrics to the audience in a mysterious and penetrating way, with a beautiful voice, taking you as a listener into her world full of pain, anger, fear, and desire. Last year, the band won first prize at Kunstbende, and with a string of festivals under their belt, they are becoming increasingly well established. With an air of mystery, entirely in keeping with the Halloween spirit, Geestdrift returns with a special Halloween Show on October 30 in the upstairs room at UP!
Scarecrow Willy: A rustic but fresh blues feel. This one-man band comes with his guitars, harmonica, kick drum, tambourine, and, last but not least, powerful vocals. Inspired by Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash, and Bob Dylan, Corijn Koper started Scarecrow Willy as a way to express his stories, slowly gaining more and more recognition. A must for all fans of blues, folk, Americana... and really for anyone who loves musical talent!
