Julia Sabaté
Met Spaans versmolten ruige pop
Julia Sabaté, who is half Spanish and half Dutch, grew up immersed in two cultures and discovered that while this has its advantages, it can also lead to inner conflict. Who are you, how do you identify yourself, and which values resonate with you? Ultimately, that balance came naturally when Julia Sabaté began expressing her thoughts in Spanish.
Julia Sabaté recently released her new single, “Vacía.” In this song, she reflects on the aftermath of a profound experience and captures the tendency to distract oneself in order to forget. With “Vacía,” Julia Sabaté opens the door to the world of her upcoming album, Egoísta: a collection of fourteen songs, each representing a different coping mechanism on the path to gradually rediscovering oneself.
Julia Sabaté has already made significant strides in her musical career in a short period of time. In 2024, she released her first EP, *CALLADA*. Her songs were added to Spotify playlists such as Fresh Finds España, EQUAL España, and New Music Friday NL.
Supported by the two musicians Ruben Sieben and Koen Hermans, with whom she writes and produces her songs, she has found her place in the world: namely on stage, wherever in the world that may be. Following standout performances at BIME (Bilbao), Eurosonic Noorderslag 2024 (Netherlands), Mad Cool Festival (Madrid), and as the opening act for Froukje (Belgium tour) and Pukkelpop (Belgium), Julia was honored in the Netherlands with a prestigious Talent Award in 2025.
To celebrate the release of *Egoísta* in the fall of 2026, Julia will be going on a club tour in the fall of 2026, visiting various cities across the Netherlands—and of course, she won’t be skipping Simplon.
