Wherever Thijs Boontjes is, there's dancing, clapping, and enjoyment. Ambiance! "Ambiance," "Dansen Met Jou," and "Deze Nacht (All Night Long)" are all well-known hits. Thijs Boontjes sounds like a 70s jukebox with a surprising variety of Dutch pop hits, ripping guitar music, and the occasional disco record to dance to. As frontman, he's a cross between a charming folk singer and a charismatic rock star: Boontjes is a bit of Brood and a bit of Hazes, all rolled into one.
Boontjes previously played in Douwe Bob's and Anouk's bands. In other words: this man is a jack of all trades. He finally decided to start releasing his own music around 2015, initially releasing several tracks as singles. In 2015, his first EP, titled Thijs Boontjes Dance and Show Orchestra, was released. Several successful albums followed.
