Funky vibes voor op de dansvloer
Since 2022, eight musical friends have been tearing up stages across the Netherlands with their infectious mix of catchy hip hop, funky horns, and polyphonic sing-alongs, backed by a virtuoso and driving live band.
From Noorderslag to Zwarte Cross and from Valkhof Festival to MadNes, wherever they go, energy and fun burst from the stage. And the audience? No one can resist dancing; no one is immune to Primaat! In no time at all, you'll be swept up in the vibe, swaying or jumping along to an explosion of positive energy.
After Popronde (2023), things moved quickly. 2024 began with a spectacular show at Eurosonic Noorderslag, followed by the release of their debut EP Roze Bril, produced with Ferdy van der Singel (Bløf, among others). The EP was launched with a sold-out release party at Hedon Zwolle and shows at venues including Melkweg Amsterdam and Merleyn Nijmegen. Their radio debut soon followed on stations such as 3FM, KINK, and Radio 1.
In addition, Primaat performed live more than 35 times in 2024, from festivals to pop venues. They shared main stages with names such as Joost Klein, Nile Rodgers, Di-rect, Krezip, Will and The People, and Fresku. In the fall, they toured as the support act for the Catalan party band La Pegatina (TivoliVredenburg, EM2, Luxor Live, and others).
On February 21, 2025, their long-awaited debut album Hoe vind je zelf dat het gaat (How do you think it's going?) was released. The release was celebrated with a sold-out tour of eight shows throughout the Netherlands (including Patronaat, De Helling, Metropool, and Simplon). The band was energized by the love of a growing group of new listeners and the trust of their early fans.
Primaat is now looking forward to a long festival summer with great enthusiasm, during which they want to jump, shout, and celebrate with even more people. Because one thing is certain: a Primaat show is not a concert, but a collective outburst.
