Cocobolo
As an instrumental trio, Utrecht-based Cocobolo has always had a soft spot for the raw energy of classic 1960s surf music. That mix of reverberating guitars, open drums, and unpolished drive forms the backbone of Cocobolo's own sound.
To honor those roots, they will release their new EP ‘Shooting From the Hip’ in the spring of 2026. Five instrumental tracks in which the echoes of sixties surf and western sounds resonate in a rattling, ragged, and dynamic way. Exactly 65 years after the release of Dick Dale's ‘Let's Go Trippin’, which is widely regarded as the birth of surf music.
