DRUK

On February 10, DRUK returns to Simplon after a successful first edition! This time with a huge line-up of DJs and MCs from Great Britain and the Netherlands. Flava D comes to Groningen as headliner. She is known as one of the most prolific and versatile artists on the bass music circuit.

Druk is the definitive showcase for grime and bass pressure in the North of the Netherlands.

Originating in London at the turn of the millennium, grime changed the face of music forever, with lightning fast lyrics from a cadre of highly skilled MCs over devastating tracks from low-end technicians who sought a darker sound to its predecessor, UK Garage.

Druk offers a fresh and exciting take on the beats and basslines that continue to underpin modern electronic practice. Programming the finest Dutch talent alongside sets from bonafide legends in the game, this all-night party moves through grime, bassline, drill, dubstep and everything in between: celebrating the music’s origins, while pushing the sound forward.

Flava D

With over a decade of experience in the game, Flava D has become known as one the most prolific and versatile artists on the bass music circuit. The Bournemouth born producer has established an internationally successful career playing and releasing all flexes of UK garage, grime and bassline. Now, Flava D is adding drum & bass to her repertoire by officially joining Songs In The Key Of Knife. 

A string of successful releases like ‘In The Dance’, ‘Soul Shake’ with My Nu Leng, ‘Spicy Noodles’, and the TQD album, ‘UKG’ alongside Royal-T & DJ Q, received global recognition from critics, fellow tastemakers and most importantly the dancefloor.

Flava D’s technical talents and superior selection style have been forever etched in dance music history as she has stamped her sound on projects reserved for God tier DJs. Signing her name amongst the limited alumni of world-famous nightclub, Fabric by mixing the 88th edition of their FABRICLIVE series. In addition to her worldwide bookings, Flava D has curated diverse line ups for her own headline shows with a 13-week residency at London’s XOYO whilst her taste-making was broadcast on a national scale with a 6-month residency at BBC Radio 1.

Flava D’s first venture into drum & bass came in the form of her track ‘Return To Me’ which featured on Hospital Records’ annual compilation ‘Sick Music 2019’ and was selected as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World. With the success of her label debut, the imprint welcomed her back to release ‘Human Trumpet’ and she became a regular name at their events and festivals worldwide – with mainstage sets at Hospitality In the Park, Hospitality On the Beach as well as Let It Roll.

Merky Ace

Merky ACE, is a British grime MC, rapper, songwriter and record producer from Lewisham, South London. He was a founding member of the grime collective Family Tree, and later Tizzy Gang. He also produces beats under the pseudonym Splurt Diablo. 

A versatile and highly influential artist, Merky ACE came to prominence in the early 2010s and released his acclaimed debut Blue Battlefield in 2011. Over the years he has collaborated with dubstep legend Funtcase, UK rapper AJ Tracey and legendary grime MC JME, with whom they won the UK Music Video Award for the 2020 track “Live”. 

In 2023, Merky ACE dropped a self-produced EP on Obligated Records, entitled Lockstock, with 2024 seeing the release of the highly anticipated mixtape Guts and Glory featuring X, Y, Z.

JLSXND7RS

Pushing his coarse, brooding sound since 2007, JLSXND7RS has steadily established himself as the de facto kingpin of Dutch grime. The in-demand producer has earned plaudits from Red Bull Music, Complex, GRM Daily and The FADER as well as prominent DJs including Sir Spyro, Slimzee, Jyoty, Scratcha DVA and many more. 

His instrumentals are powerful weapons in the arsenal of grime MCs, so much so that they’ve been graced by legendary lyricists such as Wiley, CASisDead, Footsie, Merky Ace, Pit, Jammer, Discarda and more. Also a skilled DJ, JLSXND7RS has frequented the prestigious Nijmegen club night Give It Dub, appearing alongside grime heavyweights such as Stormzy and Rude Kid. In 2022 he also provided an amapiano song for fitness brand Gymshark with fellow producer Riddla.

LESFLEURSDUMAL

LESFLEURSDUMAL is an Italian DJ located in Groningen, Netherlands. Hailing from the

vibrant music scene of south Italy, LESFLEURSDUMAL is rooted in hip hop and trap

music but has now evolved into a genre-defying exploration. Known for a distinctive style that fuses the rhythmic energy of amapiano, the catching vibes of baile funk, and the nostalgic beats of UK garage, LESFLEURSDUMAL sets are a testament to a passion for sonic diversity that make the crowd move effortlessly.

LESFLEURSDUMAL is part of international hip hop collective NORTHERN LIGHTS. Having

kicked off their journey in Groningen, the collective has firmly established itself as a powerhouse in the city’s nightlife. Renowned for their POLYRYTHMIA series, a genre-blending party that has become synonymous with cutting-edge musical experiences. 

LESFLEURSDUMAL hosts her monthly radio show at Relate Radio “Birds in the trap” where she focuses on female hip hop. On this line, she started her own party with DJ colleague Kara “9H99D” where she is focusing again on showcasing female dj talents and music, creating a no-labels environment for everyone to enjoy freely.

Haney Lee

Haney is a DJ and producer based in the Netherlands, with roots in Seoul, South Korea. With a strong background in Western and Korean instrumental performance and a love for a wide range of genres, Haney aims to bring a hybrid sound of his multiple genres and influences. He also has a monthly show at Relate Radio called RolyPoly Spins, which he intends to develop into a record label in the future based on the hybrid sounds he promotes.

Currently, Haney is known for his willingness to experiment with new sounds and genres, always with the goal of creating an unforgettable experience on the dance floor. Believing that a DJ set can be as powerful as a ritual, Haney uses music to connect with and draw energy from his audience.
