Ares

Ares (Rens Ottema, 1995) is a versatile artist and performer known for his unique music and style. Born and raised in Oosterhout, this rapper, producer, and singer managed to step into the spotlight at a young age. He made his first impressive appearance on BNN’s “The Next MC” and released his music through the renowned label Top Notch. Now, as an independent artist, Ares has complete freedom to do as he pleases. In addition to his musical creations, he also runs his own music label and clothing line, named after the area code of his hometown (162), and is involved in directing his own music videos.

Ares’s music takes the listener on a journey through personal and profound themes. He explores topics such as finding peace in the mind and soul, embracing complexity, and seeking balance between contradictory aspects of one’s personality. His music spans across genres like hip-hop and trap but also incorporates influences of soul, jazz, and synthesizers, as heard on his latest album, “Wavyman – Live From Mars.” With six studio albums, various EPs, and singles, Ares has built an impressive discography, releasing his music under his own label, 162 Records, since 2018. On the 9th of March he will visit Simplon with the “Most Wanted Tour!”
