Ioana Iorgu + Rats and Daggers

Brace yourself for night full of loud music at UP! Ioana Iorgu makes your diaphragm flap quite a bit. With her dissonant post-punk she can create a frightening and intriguing atmosphere. And the bone dry drums contrast well with her soft spoken and chilly lyrics. In September her album ‘Mean Time’ will be released, which she produced and mixed herself. Live she brings along a drummer, bursting with energy. And to make it even more special: this is her album release show!

And if you’re not surprised yet, straight-up post-punk power trio Rats and Daggers takes it up a notch. Inspired by the melancholy of IDLES, the chaos of Amyl & the Sniffers and the panache of Queens of the Stone Age. This trio pulls you out of the daily grind with sloppy breakdowns and infectious riffs. They previously played at Booster and Valkhof Festival, later this year they will participate in the Popronde as Never Mind The Hype Talent and release their first EP. First it’s time to completely overwhelm UP.
