Nachtwacht
The Groningen based, five-membered band Nachtwacht will come to Simplon in this week’s edition of Simplon UP. By merging vocals, guitar, bass, drums and a violin, as well as synthesizers and effects, they craft beautifully odd and complex pop songs, that create a swirling, yet urging atmosphere within the boundaries of acoustic, electronic and processed sounds.

Contemporary and electro music combined together? How would that sound? Marco Díaz, a master student from the Prins Claus Conservatorium presents his personal perspective about the application of audio technologies in live performances. You are invited to this brief summary that will have the percussion as main protagonist.

Marco Díaz is a classical and electronic percussionist born in Spain and based in the Netherlands. Marco is presenting his solo electroacoustic project, where offers a musical fusion influenced by contemporary music and modern styles such as pop, rock or electronic music.

Tijdens deze editie van Simplon UP komt de vijf-koppige Groningse band Nachtwacht naar Simplon. Door het combineren van zang, bas(gitaar), drums, viool en synthesizers ontwerpen zij prachtige, excentrieke en complexe popsongs. Met hun muziek creëren ze een energieke en dynamische atmosfeer binnen de grenzen van acoutische en electronische geluiden.

Marco Díaz is een klassieke en electronische percussionist, geboren in Spanje met als huidige thuisbasis Groningen. Tijdens deze avond presenteert hij zijn electroacoustisch soloproject: een muzikale samensmelting van percussie en moderne muziekstijlen zoals pop, rock en electronische muziek.
