At the next Simplon UP two very promising bands will enter the stage! INDIGO opens the night with their alternative, dreamy indie rock. The four-piece band comes from Nijmegen and was formed because of their love for Radiohead, an inspiration that can certainly be heard. Last June INDIGO’s second EP Meet Me At Dusk was released, on which you can expect dreamy guitars reminiscent of The War on Drugs and melancholic vocals à la Jeff Buckley. The EP was written in the middle of nature in times of Covid-19. Close your eyes and experience the calmness of the Veluwe that can be heard in the song Autumn. INDIGO provides the perfect indie rock to look back at the summer and prelude early autumn.
Feral Tides will bring their unique psychedelic rock to Groningen. The five band members found each other in Friesland and released their debut EP Vibrant Matter in early 2019. The surprising EP sometimes tackles heavy topics such as jealousy and even death, but is full of fresh energy due to the tight drums, trippy intermezzos and above all the bluesy saxophone that really steals the show in my opinion. Similar names include psychedelic rockbands like Pink Floyd and The Doors, and inspiration from post-punk and the shoegaze scene can also be heard. Feral Tides’ best received song Spacedrifter took the first place on the national IndieXL chart. After the pandemic, the band is very excited to get back on track again, so drift into space with this eccentric band on the UP stage!
