Imagine a typical light psychedelic trip in the ’70s where your mind tells you to party, but right before that point you just had a fat plate of sauerkraut and bratwurst. Believe it or not, but you just described the perfect night out for the bandmembers of Cymbaline. This New Wave/krautrock band from Utrecht is weird, catchy, dark, and quite a bit of German at the same time. Where the biggest part of their lyrics is in English, they always keep a slight connection to our eastern neighbours. Maybe one of the most relevant band names these times. This indie-punk duo from Leeuwarden keeps things simple. Drums and guitar, a whole lot of noise, and full speed ahead. They lure you in with their sweet-sounding single ‘Stole your socks’ before they smack you right in the face. Musically speaking of course because, Hands Off! Guidelines & protocol |
