The band is inspired by, among others, Mark Littiere, Louis Cole, Black Midi, Frank Zappa, and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. MARYSCOOVY, a musical chameleon in an eternal identity crisis, changes colors to survive in a world full of threats and challenges. Or like an annoying adolescent boy, embracing his own insecurities as a refuge. Or like a young puppy, sprinting through your living room letting loose of its stored energy. From stoner to freakbeat, garage to punk, and psych rock to the unexpected, MARYSCOOVY embraces an endless urge to experiment with new sounds and styles. This is music that springs from the hearts of a group of simple-humored, easily entertained, experimental, life-loving young-adult friends from a small Frisian village. 

They continuously challenge themselves to push their musical boundaries, often with surprising collaborations with guest artists in their musical catalog of EP’s or releases. Their songs are written from a blend of profound themes and light-hearted lyrics, portrayed in upbeat summer-themed rhythms, hunted down by heavy brick-layed riffs. Imagine a skater dude, rocking a leather jacket, cruising through the sunset on his motorbike, a joint coolly perched between his lips.
