Yorick van Norden

A new album has been released by Haarlem-based singer-songwriter Yorick van Norden. After the Edison-nominated ‘The Jester’, the third album ‘Playing By Ear’ has become something else. The main thing is still his great love for and knowledge of classic pop music from the sixties and seventees.

At an early age, Yorick van Norden started writing, playing and singing his own work. Yet he first started his career as the frontman of The Hype, after which he soon continued his musical path solo after several successful years. Since the release of his first solo album ‘Happy Hunting Ground’ on Excelsior Recordings in 2015, Yorick has certainly not been sitting around. He did several successful club tours, collaborated with Anne Soldaat and others on the music show ‘Unsung Heroes’ and as one of the highlights he did a support show of Neil Young in the Ziggo Dome.

Besides the fact that his third album is different, the live show will also have a different approach. With a six-piece band, Yorick will perform a show with a lot of attention for rich arrangements. Instead of constantly changing setlists each night, he is now working on a show with a director. Something special is bound to happen this evening!
