Rootsriders

The band Rootsriders, once named best Bob Marley tribute by the BBC, will be touring again starting the end of March. With their Living Legend Tour 2022, the group wants to emphasize that, more than 40 years after his death, the king of reggae still fires the imagination. His message of fraternisation (and emancipation) seems more relevant than ever in 2022. In a time when large groups in society have come to stand against each other, Rootsriders emphasize that only love and compassion for each other can bring us closer together again. It was precisely for this reason that the band, which is currently appearing in the new SBS6 programme ‘The Tribute, Battle of the Bands’, chose One Love as their appropriate opening number, which allowed them to gloriously go to the next round.

Rootsriders were once formed to commemorate Bob Marley’s 25th death anniversary and over the years the band has become a regular fixture on the Dutch live circuit. Vocalists Giovanca Ostiana and Shirma Rouse, as well as former The Voice runner-up Mitchell Brunings, are well-known former members.
