Known for booking big names on the hip hop scene, Homebase is brings American rapper and comedian Open Mike Eagle to Simplon! His music is accessible, danceable, but also makes you think. He knows how to combine his music in a strong way with a personal world view and the dose of humor. Open Mike Eagle approaches hip-hop in an alternative way that could be described as art-rap. His shows therefore contain a lot of visuals, for which he brings Video Dave with him.

He has been with the label Mello Music Group since 2014. His latest LP ‘Brick Body Kids Still Daydream’ reached tens of millions of streams and ended up in several top 50’s of the best rap albums of 2017. The album can be seen as a poetic monument to the former residents of Chicago’s 28-storey residential complex. Robert Taylor Homes were demolished ten years ago. The complex was notorious for crime, drugs and gang wars. More than 11,000 people live there, including Open Mike Eagle and his entire family.
