Moonloops + Marit Nygård en de Medemensen

A special Simplon UP, because this night is all about the EP release of Moonloops! Moonloops is the mind of 23-year-old singer-songwriter Sarah Dekker. Armed with a beaten up guitar, an old MacBook and a head full of stories, she started recording and producing her own songs in her bedroom back in 2020 and released an album called ‘Ghost’. Her dreamy vocals amplify the poetic and visual lyrics, which are a mix of her hopes, dreams and wishes.

With over 14,000 listeners on Spotify, Moonloops has soared beyond her bedroom and she is ready to share her stories with the world and the people who inspire her. Both her DIY roots and big dreams are reflected in this new chapter of her growth as a young adult and musician. Moonloops’ new EP ‘Little Astronaut’ will be released on all platforms on April 21, but you can already admire the EP on April 20 during the release at UP!

The second act of the evening is Marit Nygård en de Medemensen. Marit writes what touches her, in a combination of cabaret and pop music, happy, angry, sad or hopeful, but above all: honest songs come out. She is looking for contact, cheap homebrand wine, for an existence as a one-man orchestra; those who listen carefully get a glimpse into the life of a student who struggles through growing up, love and a changing world. Recently she is no longer alone on stage, but has gathered her support band De Medemensen around her. She is part of the talent development program Hit The North 2023 and is already playing in several venues in the north of the Netherlands.
