On the 9th of February, it’s time again for a hardcore night at UP!
Kletus is a band from Leeuwarden that came together in 2018. The foursome is inspired by grindcore, hardcore and deathcore. In 2020, the band released their debut album, which the band itself described as ‘filthy, raw and weird’. In addition to the already released single ‘Curb’, the band will release their new EP ‘To Distrust’ on the first of February, 2023. This is Kletus’ first work with an actual drummer and the band has already performed this new music live at the Frisian Metal Night in Neushoorn. Now it’s time for Kletus to play at UP, where the band will play filthy, raw and catchy riffs combined with the hellish vocals of Dylan Lvci Wolters!
Evilcentric is post-hardcore, post-punk & retro metal from Groningen. The idea is that the music gives a kind of metal heavy feeling, while the riffs are inspired by various loud genres such as punk, thrash metal, hardcore, stoner and garage punk. This ensures a variety of heavy, varied and noisy songs, which seem to put some of the audience in a trance during the first performances in 2022, while others find the music ‘eclectic’. Evilcentric consists of Stephen, Reinee and Dik, three guys that also play in other bands from Groningen such as Mad Wizard and Uhgah?Wugah!. The trio performed with Evilcentric on the underground G.G.I. festival in Ireland, where the band was received enthusiastically. A review of a performance in Vera downstage compared the song “Sacrifice/The Golden God” to Metallica and praised the combination of pop melodies fused with heavier musical genres. Come to UP for a hardcore night with Evilcentric!
