The second Simplon Up of this season promises to be an amazing alternative music night. “After the end there is emptiness, and out of this paradoxical source .tail is born.” .tail describes itself as an apocalyptic surf band. You might scratch your head about the meaning of that. Think about the nostalgic clean guitars of Alt-J with a hint of the alternative Radiohead sound. The band will take you away to a dreamworld with their atmospheric sound. Immediately after this you will wake up due to heavy dissonant guitar riffs. Dorpstraat 3 is inspired through the eponymous empty building. The group found the ingredients to their sound in the old house of the priest of a village: analog synthesizers, rhythmboxes, a record college containing Kraftwerk and a lot of empty bottles of wine. In summary their Dutch spoken music balances between post-punk and synthwave. The band colors their music with influences from different times and places all over the world.
