Delore (EP Release) + Never Been to Berlin

Let’s dance! As we all need to learn how to sway our hips again, shuffle our feet and shake our head rhythmically, we take it easy tonight. The Dutch electro pop of Delore is reminiscent of Eefje de Visser, but it is as catchy as the songs of Merol as well and brings back memories of the contemporary electronic pop music of Klangstof and James Blake. New wave synthesizers simmer in the background and dreamy guitar melodies fill empty spaces in songs carried by the voice of Liza Bloem. Tonight we celebrate the release of Delore’s new EP Jagen, released on October 29^th and full of new songs about love and time.

We’re postponing a collective trip to Berlin to see tonight’s support act: Never Been to Berlin. Listening to the danceable indie pop songs on the group’s debut album Aha-Erlebnis, it’s hard to believe the two members have never left a German underground techno club in the early hours of morning. We’ll just take their word for it and emerge ourselves in an eclectic mix of styles (some hard-hitting hip-hop here, some Chemical Brothers there) that wouldn’t be out of place on a night at Down the Rabbit Hole.
