Clash #04: Binkbeats

Get ready for art, music and madness. We’re kicking off during Noorderzon in (and with) Simplon.

Frank Wienk aka Binkbeats is a one man orchestra, but surrounded by more than 50 instruments on stage. Percussion is his basis, but he incorporates synths, vocals and weird otherworldly sounding objects. As an artist Frank Wienk worked with Colin Benders in the Kyteman Orchestra and is a member of Slagwerk Den Haag. He rose to fame with his moniker Binkbeats on the Boiler Room Beats Unraveled series, by reinterpreting music by Aphex Twin, Flying Lotus, Caribou and J Dilla. In the meanwhile Binkbeats has levitated more towards producing and playing his own compositions. His productions vary from ambient-like beats, to four-to-the-floor club tracks. On stage all of this is recreated live with a dazzling amount of gear, toys and instruments.
