Amka + Flowers / Ghosts & Echoes

AMKA is an experimental jazz collective that started out here, in the north of the Netherlands. From a combination of improvised jazz, experimental grooves and ambient soundscapes emerges a melting pot of jerking yet pleasant songs. Besides experimenting with sound, the boys of AMKA also tinkered on the composition of the band itself by adding an extra drummer. On their brand new EP ‘Yellow Yard’ you can hear that extra attention paid to rhythm and distinct melodies. Flowers / Ghosts & Echoes is more than a band. It is an audio-visual project that explores the shape of sound made by the electric guitar. The electric guitar produces an unrepeatable and uncontrollable noise and the improvising duo attempts to bend it, fray it, push it in a direction. The set is combined with striking visuals to offer an unexpected journey through the landscape of eerie, experimental sounds.
