DRUK

DRUK is the definitive showcase for grime and bass in the Northern Netherlands. After three successful events that featured Grammy-award winning MC Flowdan and Bass DJ FLAVA D, the event will return for its 1st anniversary on October 5th at Simplon.

DRUK 004 will be headlined by Sir Spyro, one of grime’s greatest ever DJs and producers. Starting out at Rinse FM in 2005, he presided over the Grime Show for many years, before joining BBC Radio 1Xtra in 2017. He has produced legendary records for artists such as Stormzy, AJ Tracey, Ghetts, P Money, Capo Lee, and runs his own label Tekkerz. This is a rare chance to see one of grime’s very best DJs in the Netherlands. 

He will be joined by Tilburg’s Annebel, a fast rising DJ who combines UK-inspired breaks, bass, dubstep, and jungle, and Groningen-based DJ Sachiko, who has performed at Amsterdam Dance Event, VISION’s legendary King’s Night parties and was recently featured in Resident Advisor for their Mix of the Day.

It wouldn’t be DRUK without Grime at its core. For this anniversary edition, DRUK is excited to welcome back Razor, a grime MC from Hackney who has worked with everyone from Sneaker Social Club, to Manga Saint Hilare, Oblig, and of course Sir Spyro, with guest appearances at raves and on his BBC Radio 1Xtra show. He’ll be performing alongside DRUK resident de Lacey, a partnership that stretches back nearly a decade as part of the Over The Edge grime collective. 

DRUK offers a fresh and exciting take on the beats and basslines that continue to underpin modern electronic practice. Programming the best Dutch talent alongside sets from bona fide legends in the game, this all-night party moves through grime, bassline, drill, dubstep and everything in between: celebrating the music’s origins while pushing the sound forward.
