The Visual

The alternative formation The Visual consists of Anna van Rij (vocals/guitar) and Timon Persoon (synths/electronics). These two met at the Amsterdam conservatory and outside of class they organically created their own vocabulary. During this show they will be joined on stage by Django Trienes (guitar) and Christophe Claeys (drums).

After the successful album Moments Of Being (2019), The Visual continues to grow from the dreamy, dark sound with which the band scored high. The follow-up ‘The Spirit Of Age’ (2021) has the band sounding more whimsical and dynamic, with sporadic outbursts that would not be out of place on a Nick Cave or Wolf Alice record. The sound equally lets in more warmth, sensuality and lightness, which you can hear in all their new singles from the past two years. Their band is experimenting more than ever with broadening sounds and textures over seeking perfection, which naturally gives the songs a more lighthearted feel.
